Aaron Gordon, Nuggets agree to four year contract extension

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has agreed to a contract extension with the team, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The deal will take the 2023 NBA Champion through the 2028-2029 season and will have a player option and a trade kicker.

This extension kicks in after Gordon opts into his $23 million salary for 2025-26, adding three more years at his max salary plus bonuses, totaling $133 million.

The 29-year-old, who was a key factor to the Nuggets’ championship run in 2023, is now locked in for the long haul along core members Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr.

Gordon has been vital to Denver’s success as he’s often paired with Jokic to form one of the fearsome offensive options in the league. With how much attention Jokic draws inside due to his scoring prowess and soft touch in the paint along with elite playmaking, Gordon has been able to capitalize by cutting to the basket for some easy lob passes quick hitters.
