Bulls, Pelicans were close on Lonzo Ball deal at March trade deadline

In extra footage of ESPN's Woj & Lowe Free Agency Special, Adrian Wojnarowski noted that the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans restricted free agent Lonzo Ball could make sense as a pairing, and were nearly brought together back in March.

"The Bulls and Pelicans talked about Lonzo Ball at the trade deadline, and I thought they kinda got close," he said. "They were dancing around, and I think in the end there was just some draft capital that the Bulls resisted putting in."

Wojnarowski added that the Pelicans have noted interest in UFA Kyle Lowry, and may be "resigned" to the idea of Ball no longer being on the team.

Ball, 23, averaged 14.6 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game with the Pelicans last season.
