ANALYSIS: The move will operate as a sign-and-trade with the Pistons, per Wojnarowski. As part of the move, and among the numerous other planned transactions, Detroit will waive and stretch Dwayne Dedmon, who the franchise traded for earlier in the week.
Wood joins a Rockets team that has featured heavily in offseason rumors, particularly surrounding stars Russell Westbrook and James Harden. The former undrafted center has catapulted up the NBA ranks, most recently averaged a solid 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in Detroit.
