Jerami Grant to decline player option

Denver Nuggets forward Jerami Grant is planning to decline his $9.3 million player option and hit the offseason as a free agent. Grant and Denver have "significant interest" in a new deal, and teams such Detroit, Phoenix and Dallas may also be interested.

ANALYSIS: Grant is a hot name among teams because of his unique skill set as a switchable defender and shooter. The 26-year-old forward averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting nearly 39 percent from long range in the regular season, and is positioned for a sizeable salary increase. The Nuggets relied on him heavily in the playoffs and should want to keep Grant around long-term.
