Report: Rockets willing to listen to offers for Christian Wood
In a recent episode of "The Lowe Post," ESPN's Tim MacMahon spoke to Zach Lowe about the future of Houston Rockets forward Christian Wood and his potential availability:
"The sense that I get is by no means are the Rockets looking to move him. Certainly there’s potential for him to be in his prime when the young guys grow up, and maybe the Rockets are ready to be competitive again. But they’re willing to listen [to offers] and I think that, you know, aside from Jalen Green, the Rockets should be willing to listen to [offers for] every single guy on the roster."
The Rockets, who just unexpectedly won seven games in a row, are likely still far from being a playoff team, and the front office may look to move on from some veteran players prior to the deadline (like Daniel Theis and Eric Gordon).
Wood's future with the team is interesting because he is young enough to where he could very much still be in his prime when Green and Kevin Porter Jr. start to find their stride.
Expect Wood's name to pop up in the rumor mill as trade season approaches. This season, the 26-year-old is averaging 16.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.7 threes on 45.9/36.1/57.3 shooting splits.
