Steve Kerr on Kevin Durant: He's more 'gifted' than Michael Jordan
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will be an assistant for Team USA during the upcoming Tokyo Summer Olympics and in a recent interview with NBC Sports, Kerr talked about his excitement to coach Kevin Durant again. He even went as far to say that KD is more "gifted" than MJ.
Here is the full quote from Kerr on Durant's talent via NBC Sports:
"He just showed he's the most talented basketball player on earth, if not of all time," Kerr said. "Honestly. He's just so gifted. I loved coaching him, and I'm looking forward to doing so again."
"I think [Kevin Durant's] more gifted than [Michael Jordan], I really do," Kerr added. "That's saying something, but Kevin is a different ... entirely different breed. He's 6-11 with guard skills, unlimited three-point range, passing, shot-blocking -- his shot-blocking at the rim, it's just stunning. Watching him this year was really, really gratifying to see."
Durant put the league on notice this postseason, averaging a career-high 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, and this is all coming off an Achilles tear. At 32 years old, KD proved he is still the best player in the world.
With James Harden de-committing (and Zach LaVine and Jerami Grant committing today), the 12-man Team USA roster is now finalized. The 12-man roster is as follows: Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Kevin Love, Bam Adebayo, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Draymond Green, Jrue Holiday, Zach LaVine, Jerami Grant, Khris Middleton and Jayson Tatum.
