"Fred VanVleet and Lonzo Ball's recent four-year, $85 million contracts have set a clear benchmark in the market, where this summer combo guards such as Jalen Brunson and Collin Sexton are said to be seeking salaries north of $20 million," writes Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
ANALYSIS: This honestly isn't all that surprising, seeing how Brunson has played a role in Dallas' excellent season. Sexton, while he's spent most of the season on the shelf, has proven he can put the ball in the bucket. Both Dallas and Cleveland can say that giving those contracts to those guys are overpays, but they would then have to ask themselves, what are the alternatives?
