The Timberwolves are a team that’s in the mix for Ben Simmons. They’ve wanted an upgrade at the power forward position dating back to the trade deadline last year when they were in the mix for Aaron Gordon.

ANALYSIS: Simmons' name has been swirling in trade rumors since he underwhelmed in a disappointing second-round exit for the Philadelphia 76ers. During that series, Simmons averaged 9.9 points, 8.6 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals (while being very passive).
On the podcast, Scotto also notes that Simmons played with Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell back in high school at Montverde Academy.
The 24-year-old averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game in the regular season. Simmons signed a five-year max extension in 2019 that’s worth roughly $167 million (or 25% of the Sixers’ cap room).
