On an episode of Dan Le Batard and Friends' STUpodity podcast, former New Orleans Pelicans head coach Stan Van Gundy made it clear that he and the team were never on "the same page" during his lone season with the team.
"We just weren't on the same page at all about what coaching is all about," Van Gundy said. "That became clear probably a little bit during the season, but certainly after the season."
"Who's right who's wrong would be up to anybody's individual perspective, but we certainly did not see things the same way," he said.

Brought in to replace former head coach Alvin Gentry, New Orleans relieved Van Gundy back in June after the team stumbled to a 31-41 record and missed the postseason for the eighth time in the last decade. Back to the drawing board, it'll be on David Griffin and the front office to assemble a coaching staff that can maximize a roster with two strong pieces in Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram already in place.
