The Paris 2024 Olympics Basketball Tournament is now underway and each of these teams has registered opening day victories after taking care of their scheduled matches. Here are the results thus far:

Australia 92, Spain 80

Australia beat Spain after a close game in the third quarter after Patty Mills made a clutch bucket in the 4th quarter to keep them at bay. NBA guards Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels were splendid for the Boomers to get their first win in the ‘Group of Death’.

Germany 97, Japan 77

The Germans showed once again why they are the World Champions of Basketball as they displayed stellar continuity to take care of business against Japan. Dennis Schroder with the Wagner brothers led the way for Germany in their first win of the Olympics.

France 78, Brazil 66

France survived a challenge from Brazil early on with phenom Victor Wembanyama leading the way to claim the hosts’ first win.

Canada 86, Greece 79

All-NBAers Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo went on an insane duel in their Olympic debuts with SGA and Canada coming out on top over Greece in a hard-fought game.

South Sudan 90, Puerto Rico 79

Youngest country in the world South Sudan made history as they tallied their first-ever Olympic win in their first-ever Olympics, beating Puerto Rico which also happens to be searching for their first-ever Olympic win.
