Caitlin Clark puts up triple-double to lead Fever past Sparks

Caitlin Clark had the 2nd triple-double of her impressive young WNBA career when she led her Indiana Fever to a win at home against the visiting Los Angeles Sparks Wednesday night.

The phenomenal super rookie had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to cap off yet another strong performance for Indiana. Clark shot 47 percent from the field overall and had 3 steals.

This performance was just a cherry on top for Clark, who was awarded with both the Rookie of the Month and Eastern Conference Player of the Month before the game. Clark led the Fever to a 5-1 record to push them above .500 while averaging 24 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.

Clark also continued to make history by becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to earn Player of the Month honors, and being the only rookie in WNBA history to record triple-double stat lines twice.

Indiana now moves to an impressive 18-16 record and firmly in playoff position after a horrid start at just 1-8. The Fever have completely turned it around behind Clark, a generational talent reaping the benefits of her hard work and tenacity.

All-star teammate Aliyah Boston accompanied Clark’s effort with 24 points of her own and 14 rebounds for her double-double statline while Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith added 18 and 13 points respectively.

Indiana has clinched their playoff spot, currently sitting in 6th place with six remaining play dates to go. The Fever have yet to make the playoffs since 2016, an 8-year drought.

On the other hand, A’Ja Wilson continued to tear up the league with yet another dominant showing against the Chicago Sky.

The Las Vegas Aces superstar had 30 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals against rookie rebounding machine Angel Reese, who had 12 points and 16 rebounds of her own.

This was Las Vegas’ 3rd straight win to push their record to 21-12, currently the 4th seed in the league’s playoff picture.
